Digital Art and Existential Philosophy Research Group

The WITITAWAI Collective ("Who is the I that asks Who am I?") investigates art at the intersection of digital technologies and existential philosophy. What happens to selfhood when identity dissolves into logic and arithmetic? What becomes of our gestures when they become standardised coordinates stripped of their human origin? What becomes of art in a world where representation precedes reality, and every event must perpetually recount itself to survive?

Through theoretical inquiry and creative practice, the collective confronts the unfillable gap between being and logic to probe the bite of existence in a world experienced largely as digital representation. These are not questions for philosophy alone—they demand to be lived, performed, and rendered visible.
