Conference Presentations

REPPP team members recently shared their research at a number of academic and scientific conferences.

At the recent British Society of Criminology Conference, Aisling Reidy presented on the findings from her systematic literature review on ‘No Wrong Door’ , while Kylie Gill presented her research on 'Care Leavers and the Criminal Justice System: The Role of Support Systems During Transition' .  Both Aisling and Kylie are PhD candidates with the Stable Lives Safer Streets Hub.  Stable Lives Safer Streets is a cross-border programme of youth justice policy-focused research with Queen’s University Belfast and the Centre for Effective Services. This project is funded by the HEA’s North South Research Programme.

On June 23rd, Stable Lives Safer Streets team member, Dr Orlaith Rice presented a paper at the North South Criminology Conference at University College Cork as part of a youth justice panel. The paper, 'Understanding and Supporting Young People’s Engagement in Youth Diversion Projects in Ireland', was based on a report by Orlaith and REPPP team member, John Reddy, that was commissioned by the Department of Justice, Home Affairs, and Migration. The paper showcased the main findings of the report, which included factors that facilitate and hinder a young person’s ability to engage with Youth Diversion Projects.
