Stephen Mullins, a 3rd year physics PhD student co-supervised by Dr Ning Liu (UL) and Dr Andy Stewart (UCL), gives his insight into the rewards and challenges of doing a PhD at UL.

“I can no longer look at the world the same way, whether I am looking at the structure of a building and breaking down the forces that keep it standing, or watching a car drive down the road and thinking about the forces involved in moving it.”

The Applied Languages course in UL is so beneficial and efficient that way, as the focus is both on the mechanics and grammar of the language, as well as the culture and people of the countries where your language is spoken.

"I was lucky enough to encounter a double rainbow two times while studying in Ireland for the last two years. And both were near the flagpoles."

I chose Product Design after I went to the UL open day, where I was blown away by the facilities both across the campus and within the product design studio.
