Jack O’ Callaghan is a bioengineering PhD student at the Bernal Institute and is currently being supervised by Prof. Damien Thompson (Department of Physics) and Prof. Sarah Hudson (Department of Chemical Sciences). Jack was awarded a BEng in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Limerick in August 2020. He is a recipient of a Government of Ireland Postgraduate (GOIPG) research scholarship from the Irish Research Council (IRC), where he is exploring the therapeutic potential of intrinsically disordered proteins in a drug design and translational medicine context. Jack is also a postgraduate representative on the Department of Physics Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) committee, and the inaugural vice chair of the Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) society with Engineer’s Ireland.
