Behind every statistic is a story, and it is important that we share our stories.

Our Gender Equality story goes back to when UL was announced as one of the first Irish institutions to achieve the Athena SWAN Bronze award in July 2015. While awards have followed, our focus has evolved as we address gender equality more broadly, in arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law (AHSSBL), and in professional and support roles, and for trans staff and students.

Our focus, therefore, is not just on the Pay Transparency or on a narrow view of one gender, but on promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all disciplines and gender identities.
