Prof. Pat Kiely is an Associate Professor in Molecular Sciences and Principal Investigator of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine at the University of Limerick. He is a member of the Health Research Institute and is leader of the University of Limerick Cancer Network (ULCaN). The research emphasis in Prof. Kiely’s laboratory is on deciphering the localized and transient signalling events which occur in cells during migration. To help achieve their goals, his group work closely with several other research groups and clinicians and are using a series of complementary and synergistic cellular and molecular approaches. His group have a specific interest in defining how the extracellular matrix and the tumour microenvironment contribute to the development and progression of cancer.
