This is an evidence-based health promotion and well-being service supporting UL students and staff members, including staff members having concerns about a student.

It is not a treatment or counselling service.

About the service

The confidential service is available 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, currently offered in a hybrid format (face-to-face in an informal setting and/or online via Teams). 

Services offered

  • Information and harm reduction advice (smoking, vaping, alcohol, drugs, and gambling).
     
  • Screening for higher risk substance use and gambling.
     
  • Brief intervention, advice, and support for lifestyle change.
     
  • Support for students and staff members concerned/impacted by substance use and gambling by a significant other/family member.
     
  • Advice about support for victims of drug-debt intimidation.
     
  • A two-way signposting and referral service between services internal and external to UL.
     
  • Signposting to training and education opportunities in the areas of substance use and gambling.
