Brief Description

The PhD Arts Practice is a four year, structured PhD programme, designed to meet the needs of professional performing artists who wish to engage in academic and practice-based reflection on their own artistic practice.

The programme involves a combination of taught modules and independent research.

Taught modules take place in Year One of the programme and include an introduction to methods utilised in researching through practice, as well as theoretical modules on practice theory and performance studies.

Self-designed elective modules are available in Years One and Two to develop skills related to research specialisations.

The final submission will include a 40,000 word dissertation and two major performance events.

Fees for all postgraduate programmes are revised on an annual basis.  Detailed information on fee schedules and fee regulations is available on the Fees Office website.
