Applications for the Spring 2023 UL Global Student Ambassador Programme are now Closed!

Applications for September 2023 will open in May 2023

The Student Ambassador Programme is a great way to make the most out of your time at the University of Limerick.

Ambassadors represent the international student body here at UL in many different ways, these include; participating in photo and video shoots, meeting with official visitors of UL, contributing greatly to our social media platforms, and writing blogs/testimonials. This programme allows you to connect and share your UL experience with prospective and current student.

The ideal candidate is creative, enthusiastic, and willing to fully immerse themselves into the programme. Whilst there is work involved in this role it is also very rewarding and beneficial to you by further improving your communication skills and helping build connections.

International Student Ambassadors are given the unique opportunity to help students with their burning questions about life in UL, as well as showing and telling students what life in UL is all about.

Our Ambassadors are expected to contribute a minimum of just 5 hours participation per semester. Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide two blogs per semester – check out blogs from our previous Student Ambassadors on StudyIreland.ie!
  • Communicate with prospective students via email and social media
  • Represent and promote UL in a positive manner
  • Assist UL Global with events such as webinars, campus visits, orientation and videography
  • Assist with UL Global's social media channels
  • Option to help with the organisation of cultural events and celebrations

As well as being a great way to meet new people and make new friends, the hours contributed to the Student Ambassador Programme count toward the much sought after UL President’s Volunteer Award. Students can count 3 hours a week towards this award which is a great addition to your CV (resumé). If you are undertaking a full degree programme here at UL, you will be able to apply for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. If you are here for a semester as part of the Study Abroad, Erasmus or Non-EU Exchange Programmes, you can apply for the Plassey Award. More information about the award can be found on studentvolunteer.ie so do check it out.

Upon completion of the programme, you will also  receive a certificate from the International Office and should you require one, a reference for your CV (resumé).

Our students even write blogs!

This blog is created by students, for students. What better way to learn about life in UL than from the students who have lived and studied here! Nervous or stressed about moving so far from home? Not sure what Clubs or Societies to join? Don’t know what to pack? Our International Ambassadors are here to help you by writing blogs that answer these questions! They too know how exciting, yet overwhelming, it can be to study abroad, but that’s why they are dedicated to making this an easy transition for you!
