To spend a semester or year at the University of Limerick as a Visiting Student, you can apply through your home college’s Study Abroad office or through an approved study abroad programme provider.

What documents will I need to provide?

To apply for the Study Abroad Programme you will need to provide:

  • Current official undergraduate degree transcript.
  • Copy of your passport (photo page).
  • English language certificate (if English is not your first language).

Entry requirements 

Students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 2.9 from their current home university.

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide a language test:

  • CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) B2.
  • TOEFL 550 (paper-based) 210 (computer-based) / 80 (internet-based).
  • IELTS (minimum overall score of 6.0).
  • The minimum requirement for Duolingo English Test (DET) is a score of 110.

  • The Spring 2027 Module Booklet will be available when the applications open in mid-July 2026.
