Spanish has a long tradition at UL, where it has been taught since 1987. Since then, it has become a strong subject integrated into many degree programmes and has developed a very active and exciting research culture in different areas of Hispanic Studies.

Our endeavors in the promotion of the language and the culture of the Hispanic World have been very successful over the years due to a wide range of modules focused in different aspects of the Hispanic World.

Spanish is an integral part of the BA in Applied Languages, BA in European Studies and BA in Languages, Literature and Film. As part of these degree programmes, you will also have the opportunity to study in a Spanish University and to do your work placement in Spain or Latin America.

If you are thinking of joining us or you are currently studying at UL, we hope that you find our site and its links relevant to your language learning and cultural studies.

We are open to any suggestions for the improvement of this website. Please, do not hesitate to contact the Spanish Section Leader, either by phone or email, for any enquiry.
