(2025). “Experiencia de escritura creativa colaborativa entre alumnado español e irlandés: biografías de dominicanas célebres en diversas áreas de desarrollo social,” in Domene-Benito, R. & Saneleuterio, E. (Eds.), La biografía creativa de no ficción desde la interculturalidad, el patrimonio y el género. Editorial Octaedro (pp. 33-47). Open access: https://lnkd.in/eXkEs4xq. As part of a UNESCO project, Fortes, M. collaborated on the research component by writing Chapter 2 for this book, which was part of a Virtual Exchange between students from the University of Valencia and those from the University of Limerick. Together, they created fictional stories inspired by the real-life biographies of women in the Dominican Republic. They learned about these women by reading the book Dominicanas Fuera de Serie. Students from the University of Limerick worked in Spanish with their partners from Valencia to create fictional stories that highlight the social problems faced by these and other women in the Dominican Republic. This project contributed to the following Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Two stories written by former students at the University of Limerick studying BBS Spanish were selected: Biografía 8 (p. 144) by Emma Kerins and Biografía 10 (p. 157) by Caolan Dignam. Congratulations to all the students for writing these stories to promote global citizenship and encourage gender equality in under-represented areas of the Dominican Republic.
