In 2023, I conceived the idea of studying for a Master of Law in Europe after working for several years. Being a commercial lawyer, I intended on pursuing a master’s in the same field; henceforth, I began approaching individuals who previously pursued a master’s in Ireland. Luckily, most interactions happened with individuals who were alumni of the University of Limerick. All of them showed immense confidence in the University, allowing me to write e-mails to my professors, who replied very gracefully.

Considering the guidance received from the esteemed faculty, I applied for my master’s in International Commercial Laws. The Professors are highly experienced in their approaches and introduce a competitive yet qualitative classroom exchange. I am humbled to participate in the program, which has helped me expand my professional horizons. I would like to thank my professors and the University for helping me settle into the Irish culture without hesitation. It has been a year of great experience and enlightenment.

Studying for my Masters at the UL has been an enriching experience on multiple fronts. One aspect that truly stood out to me was the different approach to higher education compared to the universities in my own country. It provided a refreshing departure from conventional methods, fostering an environment where exploration and creativity were encouraged. Moreover, the university boasted a remarkably diverse community, allowing for exposure to many perspectives and ideas, significantly enriching my learning journey. The plethora of facilities available, ranging from an extensive library to vibrant clubs and societies, greatly facilitated my studies and allowed me to engage in extracurricular activities that complemented my academic endeavors.

Most importantly, the lecturers and staff were highly competent and genuinely supportive, consistently going above and beyond to nurture our intellectual growth and foster critical thinking skills. Thus, studying law here enhanced my knowledge and existing professional skills and cultivated new ones, broadening the scope of my professional interests. Overall, my experience at my university has been remarkable, leaving me with fond memories and a sense of gratitude for the opportunities it has afforded me.

Studying Bachelors of Law (Graduate Entry) at University of Limerick may have been the single best decision of my life. The gripping curriculum along with brilliant faculty members may speak for itself. The Graduate Entry course allows a graduate to complete a law degree in just two years: this appealed to me as it fits perfectly in my grand scheme of things.

The School of Law offers a variety of modules to choose from and provides world-class amenities to cater to its students. I have always been interested in studying international organisations and transactions, and Ireland being a hub of corporate activity made me want to study there.

In the atmosphere of job insecurities and tensions around employability, UL ensures that all its students are placed and make the transition from university to work life as easy as possible. In the recent years, UL has become a popular destination for Indian students.

This, I am certain, has to do a great deal with the culture and ethos of the University. The lush green campus and the River Shannon flowing through it, who wouldn’t fall in love with such a sight? UL is my safe haven!”

Ruhi has since continued her studies at the School of Law, pursuing the award-winning Master of Laws LLM (General).

I had a wonderful experience University of Limerick’s School of Law. As a visiting law student from Canada, studying at UL allowed me to familiarize myself with the law of the European Union and the legal traditions of Ireland, topics to which I would not otherwise have been exposed. I took both master's and undergraduate courses and found the course selection and quality of instruction to be excellent. Studying at UL also gave me the chance to explore

Ireland, which is one of the most hospitable and beautiful countries I’ve ever visited. It was a memorable experience and one that I’ll look back on fondly.
