Dr Stephen King is an associate at a leading Irish firm, A&L Goodbody, and specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He graduated from UL with a first class honours LLB in Law and European Studies, before completing his PhD on the State's role in regulating consensual violence under the supervision of Eoin Quill (UL) and Hayden Opie (University of Melbourne).

He has held visiting fellowships at the University of MelbourneUniversity of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Harvard Law School. Before being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, he lectured on Irish Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Sports Law, and Land Law at UL. Stephen advises a range of multi-national manufacturers, banks, and international professional services firms across a variety of industries, including the automotive, food, pharmaceutical, banking, M&A, and accountancy/audit sectors.

He advises in relation to all aspects of commercial disputes, product recall and liability, regulatory compliance, regulatory investigations, and reputational and crisis management. He has significant experience in coordinating multiparty and multi jurisdictional litigation and strategy.

He also frequently advises on asylum and family reunification applications. Stephen has contributed a number of articles and book chapters to professional publications, academic journals, and The Irish Times, and frequently presents on his research. His main research interests are constitutional law, civil procedure, sports law, and legal/political/moral philosophy.
