The Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Limerick (UL) offer a special entrance mathematics examination to give Leaving Certificate students a second chance to pursue a course of study in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Starting 2022, the following education programmes will be included: LM092, LM094, LM095, LM096, LM097.
The special mathematics examination is for students who achieve sufficient CAO entry points and satisfy all other entrance requirements, but who do not achieve the requisite grade in Mathematics (Higher only) in the Leaving Certificate.
The examination is based on the Leaving Certificate Curriculum in the Higher Paper Only.
The examination will take place prior to second round CAO results at the University of Limerick.
Structure: Paper will examine the Leaving Certificate Syllabus - Higher Level Mathematics, Papers 1 & 2
Duration : 2.5 Hours, 14h00 -16h30, on a date to be decided immediately after the publication date for the Leaving Certificate results is announced.
Examination Structure:
Section A : 6 questions to answer 4 ( 25 marks each)
Section B : 4 questions to answer 2 ( 50 marks each)
NB Both syllabuses will be covered equally.
