IO (Input Output) is a modular tablet system designed to teach children repair fundamentals. It introduces kids to the processes and materials that are involved in the manufacture of a tablet while also incentivising them to repair it.

It starts with the IO storybook. This innovative new packaging houses a module on each page. Kids are given the opportunity to build their own tablet and while doing so, are introduced to the materials and processes that go into each module. They are guided on how to place the module into the tablet by the shadow board. Magnetically attached modules allow for easy interchangeability. The Tablet also features a diagnostics bar, allowing children to find a broken module. The IO swap app makes it easy to repair or send it back to the manufacturer for repurposing.
