NOMAD is a sleeping system designed to give rough sleepers peace of mind by providing shelter without compromising on their safety. My research highlighted the fact that rough sleepers will often leave their sleeping bag open to limit their chances of being stuck inside it if they were to be attacked. My design aims to enable rough sleepers to feel more comfortable in closing their sleeping bag, knowing that if danger comes, they can break out in an instant. Another problem is the storage of the sleeping bag throughout the day. I designed this sleeping bag so that during the day, drawstrings can be pulled, turning the sleeping bag into a jacket for ease of transport. NOMAD is designed for rough sleepers but can used by anyone such as festival goers and campers. A portion of each sale would go towards providing free NOMAD sleeping bags for the homeless.
