A central theme in the university's strategic plan is building on our achievements and providing a highly engaged learning experience for every one of our students by enhancing the student experience. This year, students on all taught programmes are invited to participate in the UL Student Satisfaction Survey (based on the UK’s National Student Survey). This survey gives students the opportunity to reflect on their time at UL and to provide commentary and meaningful feedback on both their course and the broader university supports.

Anonymised feedback from this survey is provided to Course Directors and is presented at the annual programme review meeting to inform improvements in the student experience. Reports are also sent to the university Executive Committee and Academic Council for purposes of oversight.

In addition to their overall satisfaction with UL and their course, students are asked how satisfied they are with each of the following areas:

  • Teaching and Learning

  • Assessment and Feedback

  • Academic Support

  • (Course) Organisation and Management

  • Learning Resources

  • Personal Development

  • Work Placements

  • Academic Integrity

The results of these surveys are taken very seriously by UL and resources are invested in the areas identified as most in need of improvement.
