The title of the project is ‘Plasmonic nanocavities for quantum light emitters and sensing’.

This project will explore the possibility to fabricate nanoparticle-on-mirror (NPoM) plasmonic nanocavities on an optical fibre tip and study its applications in quantum light emitters and sensing. This project will involve both simulation on the E-field enhancement and hands-on fabrication of NPoM nanocavities and their integration with fibre tip.

This is a fully funded position. The PhD student will have opportunities to work within three research groups (Trinity College Dublin, Tyndall National Institute and University of Limerick) in Ireland, but the main base of the student will be at the University of Limerick.
