This module will prepare practitioners to meet the needs of people with various types of dementia as identified in local, national and international policies and strategies and within the changing demography of people with dementia. It also provides practitioners with the opportunity to develop specific competencies and expertise in conducting holistic assessments for persons with dementia. Diagnostic procedures and stages of dementia will also be explored. Concepts of personhood, person-centred care and safe care underscore the delivery of modular content.
