Using Manage Files may take a small bit longer at the start but it will make it a lot easier for you when there are later iterations of the module. You will be able to find all images, documents etc a lot easier instead of trawling through lots of items on one level.
One of the main advantages to adding files to the manage files are is to create the folder structure you want to that it's easy to locate files when you need to call on them to add to the content area.
Manage files tool also allows you to cut, copy, duplicate and delete individual files so it is a good space to become familiar with.
