Catherine Adley
Catherine Adley is a Professor Emerita of Microbiology. She served as Head of the Department of Chemical & Environmental Science for six years at the University of Limerick. Her research activity is in hygiene design and cleaning for contamination control in pharma and food industries.
Her career spans placement in the USA in NY at Cold Spring Harbour Laboratory and Boston University; in the UK in the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the University of Surrey. Secondments taken in the Institute Pasteur, Paris and Thammasat University, Rangsit campus in Thailand. She has served on the Scientific Committee of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the Inland Fisheries Forum. She is council member of the RDS. Her interests are in mankind’s interactions and influences on the environment.
