Bio

Dr. Tien Teng Ong is currently a scientist at ICES, Singapore. He was born in Singapore in 1979 and received his B.Sc.(Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees from the National University of Singapore (2004) and University of South Florida (2011) respectively. His graduate research focused on the crystal engineering of molecular and ionic pharmaceutical materials under the supervision of Prof. Michael J. Zaworotko. From 2011 to 2013, he was a senior research scientist at Albany Molecular Research, Inc., where his work involved the preclinical development of investigational new drugs, particularly solid form screening for polymorphs, salts and cocrystals. Since 2013, he is seconded to GSK Evidence-Based Formulation group to focus on the clinical development of combination drugs in emerging markets research and development.

He is the co-author of five peer-reviewed publications and co-inventor of two patents. Research interests include crystal engineering, solid form screening and secondary pharmaceutical processing. Current work is focused on formulation development of immediate release solid oral dosage forms.
