CALS welcomed Iciar Soriano Ibáñez, a student intern from Universidad de Almería to UL from June 19th to August 18th 2023.

Bio: My name is Icíar Soriano Ibáñez and I am 21 years old. I am currently studying a double degree in Hispanic Philology and English Studies at the University of Almeria, I am in my fourth year. Last year I studied third year at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick where I was able to develop my English language skills to a bilingual level in English and Spanish. Last year in Ireland I was surprised to see how many people were interested in Spanish and I took a basic Gaeilge course where I learnt more about this fantastic language.

I am a creative and hard-working person, so I think I could bring new ideas to the table and learn at the same time. I am mainly interested in activities related to reading, social media, writing, proofreading, english language. I have participated in literary competitions that are committed to the survival of Spanish poetry, such as the Premio Nacional de Poesía Viva #LdeLírica organised by the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, where I was a finalist among other achievements. I also create literary content in social networks where I expose my work and poems.
