Recently, Minister Anne Rabbitte launched the report ‘’Presenting problems/conditions that result in people with an intellectual disability being admitted to hospitals in the Republic of Ireland: An analysis of NQAIS Clinical data from 2016-2020’’. The report was presented by the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD) and submitted by a team of researchers at UL involving Dr Owen Doody, Dr Ruth Ryan, Therese Hennessy, Mairéad Moloney, Rosemary Lyons  (Department of Nursing and Midwifery) and Dr Jennifer McMahon (Department of Psychology).
