Reconnect with old friends and relive your UL days at Class Reunion Day 2025 on Saturday, 23 August. Full details announced!

Graduates from UL, NIHE, or Thomond College in a year ending in 0 or 5—1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020—this is your chance to celebrate with your class!

For the first time, we’re opening up access to some of UL’s most iconic and newly developed spaces through a series of mini tours. It’s a great chance to revisit old haunts, discover what’s new and experience just how much UL has evolved since your time on campus. From the new state-of-the-art Student Centre and the expanded Glucksman Library to the novelty of a campus road train, we’re excited to welcome you back in a way we have never done before.

Ticket Pricing: Tickets are priced at €40, which includes admission to the reunion, optional tours, a BBQ meal and a drink. Be sure to book early, as tickets are limited and will not be available on the day.

Here’s what’s in store on Saturday, 23 August:

WELCOME RECEPTION
12–1pm | The Plaza Café @ Glucksman Library
Begin your day with tea, coffee and sandwiches in a relaxed setting. Reconnect with classmates, pick up your name badge, goodie bag and barbecue vouchers, and enjoy a warm welcome back to campus.

REGISTRATION
1pm–6pm | The Student Centre Courtyard
Please make sure to register when you arrive. If you miss the welcome reception, you can still collect your name badge, goodie bag and barbecue vouchers from our registration desk, which will remain open until 6pm. The UL Alumni team will be there to greet you and help you with any questions.

WALKING TOUR
1pm & 3pm | Starting from the 'ski slopes’ (Main Reception)
Venture beyond the train route to discover areas of campus only accessible on foot. This guided walk will take in the Plassey House grounds, the Living Bridge and other favourite landmarks, blending old memories with new discoveries. You are advised to bring appropriate clothing (in case of rain) and comfortable footwear.

IRISH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCE
2-3pm | Jean Monet Theatre, Main Building
Enjoy a special performance by a string quartet from the Irish Chamber Orchestra, which is based on campus, a highlight of the afternoon, brought to you by one of Ireland’s leading ensembles. Expect an eclectic set list that bridges classical masterpieces with contemporary classics.

EXPLORE THE GLUCKSMAN LIBRARY
2.30pm & 3.30pm | Glucksman Library
Since its major expansion in 2018, the Glucksman Library has become a vibrant hub for digital learning and innovation. Join library staff for a guided tour of The Edge—a state-of-the-art space featuring a makerspace, media labs, a green screen studio, and Ireland’s only library-based automated storage system. Spaces on the library tours are limited and will be allocated at registration on a first come, first served basis. When you register, just let the team know your preferred tour time, and you’ll receive a pass confirming your space.

IN REMEMBRANCE
3pm | Memorial Garden
Join UL’s founding President, Dr Ed Walsh, for a quiet, meaningful moment to reflect and honour the memory of classmates who are no longer with us. In the peaceful surroundings of the Memorial Garden, you are welcome to share memories of friends and classmates or read a passage/poem that is meaningful to you.

TOUR OF THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT
4pm | Block B, Main Building (Meeting point: Main Reception)
Join Maria Munroe, CTO Department of Chemical Sciences, for a guided tour of familiar labs and new features. See how the department has evolved and explore highlights such as the Interactive Periodic Table, a large-scale, interactive display – the first of its kind in any third-level institution in Ireland.

BER ANGLEY’S ALTERNATIVE TOUR
4.45pm | Starting at University Concert Hall
Join UL legend Ber Angley, former Ents Manager at the Students’ Union, for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of University Concert Hall, including a mini recital on the Compton Organ. Expect stories, surprises and nostalgia.

UL SPORT & ARENA TOUR
4.45pm | Starting at UL Arena
Step inside UL’s sporting heart and see how far it has come. From Ireland’s first Olympic standard 50-metre swimming pool to the tallest climbing wall in the country, you’ll see why UL is known as Irelands Sports Campus. If you studied here before the arena was built, you might remember this space as the ‘mud bowl’… a far cry from the thriving sports hive it is today!

CAMPUS TRAIN TOURS
All day | Departing from outside the New Student Centre
All aboard for something completely new! For the first time ever, you can tour UL by road train. Running throughout the day, it’s a fun and novel way to see the campus, taking in landmarks old and new across 345 acres – no walking required!

REUNION BARBECUE AT THE STABLES
6pm | The Stables Club
Round off the day’s activities with the Reunion Barbecue. The Stables has always been the place where friendships were made, stories were shared, and nights out began (and sometimes ended). It’s the perfect spot to catch up with classmates over food and a drink.

PARTY ON IN THE STABLES
Stay on as the DJ takes over and the celebrations continue into the night. Whether you remember cramming into the bar, laughing over pints or dancing until closing before facing an early lecture the next morning, the Stables was where it all happened – and it’s ready to welcome you back…what happens next is up to you.

ON CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION
When you are all partied out, you won’t have far to go. For the first time, you can stay overnight in student accommodation at Dromroe Village, right on campus. Rooms are ensuite with high-speed WiFi and include a continental breakfast — all for €70 per person per night. The link to book accommodation is now closed. Please email conference@ul.ie directly to make a booking.

If you’ve lost touch with classmates and would love to reconnect in time for the reunion, we’re happy to help! Email us at ulaa@ul.ie, and we’ll do our best to get your gang back together.
