I am an Assistant Professor in Anatomy in the School of Allied Health, EHS. My research areas consist of anatomy, histology and developmental biology. My interests include epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (and its reverse), the role and expression pattern of the Wilms tumour suppressor gene/protein (Wt1) in mesothelial cells of the intraembryonic coelom during development, and also how these functions can be mirrored in the adult during the progression of certain diseases. I am currently collaborating with several researchers in the Bernal Institute on projects such as stem niches in the gut, concussion, autism, and hemodynamics.
