Access & Widening Participation @ UL
UL believes in promoting educational opportunity and is actively working to meet its goals and objectives as set out in UL at 50 Strategic Plan and the National Access Plan 2022 - 2028. The University is committed to increasing the participation and success of under-represented students and communities entering in higher education and actively engages with education providers, organisations and communities to support their entry to UL through our various Access Entry routes. Once you become a UL student, you will have access to a range of supports to help you transition to university learning and develop the skills required to flourish as a third level student and beyond.
Access Office
The Access Office works to promote and support the access and participation of students from groups that have been under-represented in third-level and the University sector
Access Campus
A partnership to support people in realising their potential through outreach educational opportunities at the AccessCampus.
Disability Services
The Disability Support Service (DSS) are committed to the provision of educational opportunities to Students with Disabilities.
Mature Student Office
Supporting mature students who are registered on full-time undergraduate programmes in UL and students on the Mature Student Access Certificate.
Educational Assistive Technology Centre (EATC)
The Educational Assistive Technology Centre (EATC) works to support students and staff with any assistive technology (AT) they need to overcome barriers to education and work. Primarily, we work with students with disabilities to ensure they can participate fully and equitably in their coursework.
Student Health Centre
Provides urgent care/advisory service and deals with all general health issues as they present.
Student Counselling & Wellbeing Service
This is a free and confidential service where we are a first point of contact for mental health needs.
Chaplaincy
The chaplains offer a welcoming space and supportive presence to students and staff.
Student Financial Support Advisor
Advising students on financial planning and the financial supports that are available to them.
Arts Office
Arts Office plays a key role in the vibrant artistic life of UL with a wide programme of cultural events.
Student Volunteering Office
The SVO is committed to enhancing the experience of communities, HEI Students and Staff throughout emancipatory based civic engagement activities and practices.
Student Engagement & Support Officers
There is a Student Engagement and Support Officer (SESO) aligned with each of the four faculties. The SESOs are here to assist full-time undergraduate students in finding the answers to questions and identifying the appropriate supports to help them excel during their time in the University of Limerick.
