UL Global warmly welcomed over 1600 new international students in glorious weather to campus last week. Our 7-day Orientation programme commenced with the arrival of excited students into Shannon Airport where they were met by our Global Guides and continued with a host of information sessions and engagement activities throughout the week.

5 UL Researchers presented with prestigious Lero Awards!

UL Professor & Director of Lero, Brian Fitzgerald received a special award in recognition of his contributions to the Science Foundation Ireland Research centre at the Lero Summit on Thursday. Brian is a founding member of Lero and has played an instrumental role in its ongoing success over the last 7 years.

On July 11th, the 3rd INTERACT+ partner meeting took place online. The partner meeting was necessary to discuss the already achieved deliverables, the general progress and  development of the project, and future steps to achieve the project.

University of Limerick has been named among the top 500 universities globally, according to the latest edition of world university rankings.

UL has significantly improved its position in the 2024 QS World University Rankings, climbing more than 100 places to a ranking of 426 overall. UL is now in the top 2% of universities in the world.

From 19-21 April 2023, the University of Limerick hosted the first transnational partner meeting of the ‘International and European Sport Organisations Activate Citizens–Plus (INTERACT+) project.

This year University of Limerick staff and students marched in the Limerick St. Patrick's Day parade to celebrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at UL. 

University of Limerick hosted a large gathering of European university leaders as part of the three-day Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) General Assembly.

Taking place from March 14-16, the event saw 23 presidents and rectors from institutions across Europe attend and take part in a host of activities on campus, as well as visiting attractions across the region.

A new photographic exhibition celebrating the thriving international student community who chose to study in Limerick was launched at this year’s Spring Global Festival.
The Diversity Photo Exhibition: ‘Muintir’ will be launched this Tuesday and is part of a collaboration between University of Limerick, Technological University of the Shannon and Mary Immaculate College.
