Virtual Open Day

The University of Limerick are bringing you Open Days with a difference. Join us virtually on Saturday January 22nd to get to know why our students chose UL, how they make the most of their student experience and their advice to any students thinking about coming to UL. As well as meeting our students, you will also get the chance to chat with our staff to help you in your big decision. See our schedule below for all of the live talks taking place.

Hear from our students and graduates from BSc science programmes on their experience of student life at UL & career paths.  This will be followed by a live Q&A session.

10.00 Physiotherapy

Meet Physiotherapy Programme Director, Dr Sara Hayes and two current Physiotherapy Students Aisling and Ana

10.00 Mature Student information session

The Mature Student information session will provide prospective Mature Students with information on entry routes through the CAO, The Mature Student Access Certificate, and the Maths for STEM programme. This session will also provide information about the supports available to Mature Students at the University of Limerick.

10.00 How UL will support you as a student

Hear from our Student Support Officers on how UL will support your transition from secondary school to third level education. Get tips on how to survive your first year and where to go and who to ask for if you are feeling a bit lost.

10.00 UL Sports Scholarships

Get an overview of our famous sport scholarship programme and ask our current sport scholars on why they chose UL.

10.30 Architecture / Design

Hear from our students and graduates from BSc Product Design & Technology and BArchitecture programmes on their experience of student life at UL & career paths.  This will be followed by a live Q&A session.

11.00 Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences The importance, relevance and benefits of studying arts, humanities and social sciences in the 21st century
11.00 Study Business at UL

Hear from our students and graduates from BSc ICT programmes  on their experience of student life at UL & career paths.  This will be followed by a live Q&A session. This session covers general entry and direct entry programmes and introduces two new programmes for 2022.

11.00 Physical Education/ Exercise and Health Fitness Management/ Sports Science

Meet Dr Brendan O'Keeffe, Lecturer in the Physical Education and Sport Science Department and two current students, Christine and Wayne

11.00 Living on campus - UL accommodation with live Q&A

Learn about our different campus villages, how and when to apply for accommodation, and what life is like living on campus at UL. Live Q&A following the presentation.

11.00 HEAR and DARE information session

The DARE (Disability Access Route to Education) and HEAR (Higher Education Access Route) information session provides an opportunity to learn about the HEAR and DARE access routes and talk through the application process. There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers.

11.30 QQI and transfers session

The QQI and transfers session will provide information on QQI entry routes and internal and external transfers.

11.30 Supports & Services in the Library

The Glucksman Library is a state of the art library and a focal point on UL`s campus. The library is where you will access all the books and electronic resources you need for your course and where you will be spending a lot of time as a UL student.

11.45 Maths & Stats/ Physics

Hear from our students and graduates from BSc science programmes on their experience of student life at UL & career paths.  This will be followed by a live Q&A session.This session covers general entry and direct entry programmes.

12.00 Languages in UL

Learn about language supports, career opportunities and more directly from our students. This talk is focused on LM044  & LM040 but useful for those interested in language options on other courses
