University Placement Tutor
UL student teachers on School Placement normally have two university placement tutors who provide feedback on both subject specific and general education issues. The role of the university placement tutor is to provide guidance and mentoring and to evaluate the work of the student teacher. The mentoring and guidance role is a very important aspect of the role of the university tutor as School Placement can be a very challenging time for student teachers. The university placement tutor also has the task of evaluating the work of student teachers on placement and to agree an overall assessment for School Placement with the other university tutor. The School Placement Handbook for University Placement Tutors clearly outlines the role of the tutor and contains all associated documents.
