Meet Luke

Hi, my name is Luke Taheny and I’m a designer from Gurteen, Co. Sligo. I always had an interest in design from a young age. Often, I found myself drawing and building things in my spare time which led me to take subjects in secondary school such as art, construction and engineering. After school I wanted to pursue my interest in this area further, so I chose Product Design and Technology which had a perfect combination of all disciplines.

My passion is industrial design and design for manufacture. I love producing innovative ideas and creating prototypes to test them with the user to receive informative feedback which I can then use to improve the product. I look forward to my future career and developing my design skills within the domain of consumer products and medical devices.

SuccSeed removes the inconvenience of trying to grasp small seeds and preparing soil, both of which are difficult tasks for many gardeners but especially for those with poor or limited dexterity.

SuccSeed is a light handheld seed dispenser which enables all gardeners to have an enjoyable planting experience, avoiding seed wastage and enhancing crop production.

SuccSeed is ergonomically designed using durable plastic with soft grips to fit comfortably in the hand of the user.
