Meet Garry

Hi, my name is Garry Fernane I am a Product Designer from Tralee, Co. Kerry. I have always had an interest in sketching and visually appealing design. I chose to study Product Design at UL as I felt it would complement my abilities and interests, and allow me to pursue a career in which I am able to create simple, effective and impactful products.

During my four years at UL, I have developed my visual and technical design skills through problem solving, sketching, prototyping and numerous software's. I am keen to build on my skills, education and work experience to make a contribution in the professional environment as I pursue a career in industrial design.

8TRACE

My project addresses the issue of searching for a lost friend if separated from the group at music festivals, which can have a negative impact on festival goers’ experiences, whilst also posing a significant safety issue.

8TRACE is a wearable electronic device that allows festival goers to locate each other if lost or separated from the group and provides a means of necessary communication between the festival goer, paramedics, and their close contacts.
