Welcome from the Executive Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Science and Engineering at University of Limerick (UL). Located in the heart of the university's award-winning campus, we are dedicated to producing graduates that can become leaders for a sustainable future globally.  Our vision is to be the leading national research and education community in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and design. Inspiring our graduates to excel in their chosen field, and enabling them to reshape Ireland’s sustainable future in a challenging global context.  Our faculty’s mission is to be a bold, distinctive, inclusive, and internationally recognised hub, known for its scholarship, innovative education, and integrated research. over 585 exceptional staff dedicated to supporting the learning of more than 4,238 students we are the largest faculty in UL with the most diverse education and research offering in Ireland. Our graduates are highly employable, with 96% of our graduates either employed or in further study.  The faculty has a strong record of accomplishment in combining research excellence and applications to meet industrial and societal needs. We host two national research centres in pharmaceutical materials and software and national technology centres in composite materials, pharmaceutical processing and dairy processing. We welcome you to take the First Step and become part of our community of Leaders for a Sustainable Future.
