Successful award of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

We are delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to our colleague Mihai Penica on the successful award of his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), University of Limerick.

Mihai completed his doctoral research within the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department, focusing on the development of secure communication protocols for industrial wireless sensor networks. His thesis, titled:
"Interoperability in Smart Manufacturing: A Framework for Enhanced Communication Efficiency in Industrial IoT Ecosystems", was supervised by Professor Eoin O’Connell and Professor Martin Hayes.

Mihai’s work delivers meaningful contributions to the field, combining technical rigour with practical relevance, a hallmark of our research ethos. This achievement marks both the culmination of years of dedicated effort and the start of an exciting new chapter in his academic and professional journey.
