This UL Talk centres on electron microscopy. Dr Jennifer Cookman, postgraduate researcher, along with Professor Ursel Bangert, discuss the Electron Microscope facility at UL. Jennifer discusses her current work in applying electron microscopy to observe chemical processes (in liquid or gas i.e. in situ) as they happen. She is currently focused on observing the very beginnings of pharmaceutical crystal nucleation, growth and dissolution in liquid. Professor Ursel Bangert is the Bernal Chair of Microscopy & Imaging in the Department of Physics at the University of Limerick. Dr Jennifer Cookman is a postgraduate researcher in the Department of Physics at the University of Limerick.
