Tuesday 9th - The SOPHia Project: Science Outreach to Promote Physics (Primary) 

This workshop is aimed at primary level students (3rd to 6th class). 

Our SOPHia workshop is all about the exciting world of physics! There will be science experiments, some information about what physics is about, some funny stories about famous physicists, and some things for you to try out at home or in the classroom too. And, as a bonus you will find out about the physics of bees! The workshop aims to get young kids interested in physics

 

Tue 9th, Wed 10th, Thurs 11th - Web Development Workshop Build a website! 

Target Audience: Second-level students aged 14-18

Time: 11:00-11:40

Workshop details: Lero researchers at UL are running web development workshops during Science Week. The researchers will introduce and explain HTML/CSS over a series of three workshops. Workshop 1 will introduce basic HTML concepts for students with no prior experience of HTML, Workshop 2 will build on workshop 1 and introduce CSS and in Workshop 3, students will creating a mini website. These hands-on workshops are designed to run online in a 40-minute period so that it can be delivered during school time. 

What’s needed: Access to web accessible device such as a PC or chromebook. Workshop will be delivered online via zoom. Students will also need access to a HTML editor.  Zoom link with be shared with class teacher before workshop.
