PhD Fee Waiver*

We are seeking applications from occupational therapy, health sciences, humanities or social science graduates to pursue a PhD on
"The development of the practice, theory and structures of occupational therapy with children in Ireland (1970 – 2022)".

Terms of the Award:
• To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be willing to register as a postgraduate student in the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences Structured PhD in September 2022
• The scholarship may be held for up to 4 years (sPhD), subject to available funding and the student’s continued satisfactory academic progress
• Scholarship recipients must register in the School of Allied Health
• Selection panel decisions will be final and not open to review (see Information and Evaluation Criteria document)
• Applicants will be given a maximum of ten working days to decide whether to take up the scholarship, once offered. If the scholarship is not taken up, it will be re-allocated based on merit points to the next highest applicant. The panel will have the right to agree that low quality applications may be judged as non-fundable, and a scholarship will not be offered in that instance
• The successful applicants will be notified by the end of the second week in August and must proceed to register for their degree programme

*International applications are welcome; please note that the fee waiver covers EU fees only; an international applicant, if successful will be responsible for the difference between EU and international fees.

** Given that the sPhD model is becoming the default model of PhD study, the fee waiver will be prioritised for a sPhD candidate. Potential traditional PhD model students are not precluded from applying in circumstances where they are unable to undertake the sPhD programme.
