Research collaborative in quality and patient safety awards

The Health Research Board invites pre-applications for its research collaborative in quality and patient safety awards. These support high quality research projects where knowledge users and academic researchers collaborate to focus on QPS research questions that are determined by the documented needs of the Irish health care system. Proposals are invited under the themes of effective quality improvement, and building and supporting a culture of quality improvement. The objectives are to:

•facilitate high quality QPS research of issues of national priority with the potential to make a real difference to the Irish health service;

•enhance collaboration between healthcare and research communities.

The lead applicant must hold a post in an HRB-recognised host institution in the Republic of Ireland that covers the duration of the award, or be a contract researcher recognised by the host institution as an independent investigator who will have a dedicated office and research space for the duration of award, or be an individual who will be recognised by the host institution upon receipt of the award as a contract employee.

A total of two projects are expected to be supported worth up to €280,000 each over two years.
