Research Impact

This section provides information on maximising your research impact

UL was the first Irish university to roll-out a research impact case study programme in 2014, since then we have built up a body of high quality, evidenced-based impact case studies.  UL's Research Impact programme highlights excellent research that has a measurable impact on industry, society and the wider community. Our case studies demonstrate how UL research has translated into award-winning inventions; improved patient care; policy interventions; and the generation of high-value jobs. The Research Impact initiative promotes multidisciplinary research and close collaboration with industry, NGOs, and other partners to achieve greater impact.

We have also launched  UL’s first podcast series which explores the tremendous contributions UL research is making in the real world. From rehabilitating mining sites, helping voters make informed choices at the ballot box, strategies to combat physical inactivity in Ireland and improving the quality of life for people with MS, the series brings our research stories to a global audience. To date, the series has been very well received with the channel ranked no 2 in its iTunes category.
