Marie Curie Individual Fellowships 2019 – Call open, all disciplines

The call has launched for 2019. Senior researchers are invited to check their international networks for applicants to this scheme. Early career researchers who joined UL since 12th Sept 2018 are eligible to apply.

Three UL researchers were awarded MSCA Fellowships in 2018, a total only exceeded by two other universities nationally. Our internal success rate was 23%, with two more candidates on the reserve list taking this to 46%. See the UL fellows and their mentors profiles on this link

Who can apply?

You can apply for a fellowship if you have a doctoral degree (PhD) or at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience.

Types of fellowships

European Fellowships (EF) are available for 1 to 2 years to work in Europe, or associated country, and for those returning to Europe. Mobility rule applies

Global Fellowships are available to European researchers to work for 2- 3 years outside Europe before returning to Ireland for your final 12 months.

Mobility Rule

For the EF, applicants cannot be in Ireland for more than 12 months in the last three years, some exceptions apply.

Value of award

Typical Fellowship Budget ~ €85,000 per annum.

If you have not already done so, please attach a comprehensive CV and list of publications, h-index, citations, impact factor, participation in conferences, awards and funding received, etc with a short outline of the research proposal. Please email these documents no later than 3rd May to your supervisor copying with the subject line “Application MSCA 2019.”

This call for proposals closes on 11th September 2019, and 3 months preparation time is recommended.
