Following a career of 34 years as a speech and language therapist in the public health service in Ireland Seán completed his MA in TESOL at the University of Limerick in 2014. Since then he has been teaching and tutoring in the School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics. He is currently working on his doctorate and was appointed Teaching Assistant TESOL/Linguistics in Oct 2017. Seán is a postgraduate member of the Centre for Applied Language Studies (CALS, UL) and TESOL International.
Following initial research on applying a phonological approach to fossilised pronunciation errors in Spanish learners of English (MA TESOL 2014) Seáns current doctoral research is looking at applying this speech therapy informed model to the English Language Teaching Classroom.
