I am currently a Research Officer in the Department of Education at the University of Oxford.
I completed my PhD research under the supervision of Dr Orla McCormack and Prof Sibel Erduran in the School of Education and National Centre for STEM Education (EPISTEM) at the University of Limerick, Ireland. My research, which was funded by the Irish Research Council, focused on the role of pre-service science teachers' epistemic beliefs (in their subject domain and in Education Studies) in influencing their perceptions of Education Studies usefulness for professional thought and practice. [Viva due early October].
Broadly, I am interested in teacher education, science education, epistemic beliefs, and argumentation. I am particularly curious about teachers' (pre-service and in-service) perceptions and use of Education Studies/educational research, and the multitude of reasons for these perceptions.
