The Health Research Futures Lab is funded by the Irish Research Council under their Creative Connections/IDR programme. It is a special workshop held over 4 days (21st-22nd March and 6th-7th April). From 50 applicants, across a wide range of disciplines (AHSS & STEM), we have 22 researchers partaking in the workshop. The focus of the lab is to build capacity to work in interdisciplinary research teams and offers an important neutral space where knowledge and practices from each discipline are considered equal. On the 7th of April from 1.00pm (Castletroy Park Hotel) we will be showcasing the emerging research from five new interdisciplinary health research teams. There will be a presentation from each group of their work, and a panel of experts (chaired by Ciaran Duffy, H2020) will decide on a winner of seed funding, aimed at supporting the researchers on-going work (sponsored by AcoE/Johnson & Johnson). There will also be an overview of the lab methodology, as well as a keynote address from Dr Hilary Moss, director of the National Centre for Arts and Health (NCAH) and Lecturer in Music Therapy at the Irish World Academy, UL.
