Biography
Xosé P. Boán is an Assistant Professor in Iberian Studies and Course Director of the BA in European Studies.His research interests comprise Iberian film, literature and graphic narratives & Southern Cone cinemas with a focus on narratives of memory and crises; migration studies; masculinities and violence; Galician studies.
Xosé earned his PhD at Tulane University (New Orleans, 2017) and previously taught at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and at the State University of New York, Oswego. He is the co-editor of Netflix' Spain: Critical Perspectives (Routledge, 2023) and his most recent scholarly work has appeared in venues such as the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics (2024), Studies in Comics (2021), Quarterly Review of Film and Video (2020), Romance Studies (2019), Transitions: Journal of Franco-Iberian Studies (2018), Revista de Estudios Hispánicos (2018), and Variaciones Borges (2016).
