Biography
Jean is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biological Sciences. She completed a BSc in Environmental Science in 2011 and a PhD in environmental fate modelling in 2014, under the supervision of Professor Catherine Adley. Upon completion of her Doctoral Studies, Jean has undertaken post-doctorate roles on national (DAFM, IRC/GSI) and international (EU FP7) projects.
Jean has been actively researching in the area of environment and health for over 5 years, having developed valuable collaborations with both the HSE and other academic institutions. She has been a collaborator on several successful grant applications providing expertise in the area of climate and health as well as geo-statistical modelling of contaminants. In 2017, Jean was awarded a highly competitive Irish Research Council Post-doctoral fellowship to continue her research.
Jean has been an invited speaker at several national conferences, presented at over 30 national and international conferences and has published over a dozen ISI peer reviewed research papers and several book chapters in collaboration with UL, DIT and the HSE since 2014. She is a reviewer for a number of international journals and a selected member of the Public Water Forum.
