Biography
I am a Chemical Engineer with a Masters in Advanced Materials Technology and Processing and a PhD in Polymer Chemistry. My R&D experience spans from magnetic materials to polymer chemistry, composite materials, supramolecular chemistry, biomimetic polymers, adhesives and medical devices.In my current role as the IComp Centre Manager, I am responsible for the following tasks & activities:
- Research Programme Management (coordinating 6 current IComp core projects between 4 universities and 22 industry members)
- Industry Member Liaison (22 current industry members)
- EU & External Funding (more than 5M EUR of external, competitively won funding attracted by IComp to date)
- Business Development (new members, strategic expansion to new research areas & industry sectors, external income)
- Monitoring and reporting IComp metrics and progress against Key Performance Indicators
As a UL Senior Research Fellow, I am the co-PI and project manager in the H2020 project FIBRESHIP (http://www.fibreship.eu/) since June 2017, and I have attracted more than 0.8M EUR of own funding since August 2015 (PI/co-PI in 6 projects, responsible for 3 postdocs, 4 research assistants and 1 EU student intern)
