The 2019 Research Week will run from the 2-6 December and will be themed around the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The week opens with the launch of a poster exhibition of research from UL which supports the Sustainable Development Goals. The Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Science will host a panel discussion on ‘Sustainable Development Goals and the Humanities – A New Horizon’ with eminent speakers from across Ireland. A lecture on ‘The Implications of Open Data’ will be delivered by Dr Michael Arentoft from the EU Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. There will be a half-day symposium on ‘So you think you want to do a PhD’, and a session on ‘Developing Relationships with Industry.’ The week includes workshops on media training, a ‘How to write great papers and get published’ workshop by Elsevier, a Research Soapbox event, a movie night in the city centre, Bernal and HRI research days and we welcome back alumni to share insights from their career journey.
