The Implications of Open Data

The Implications of Open Data with Dr Michael Arentoft, Policy Officer, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission. He was previously Deputy Head of Unit of International Cooperation Strategy and Innovation Union policy officer.

The lecture deals with the current challenges and priorities of Open Data and its increasing importance – from open access to publications and data. Issues around opening up the research system for societal benefit will be covered. Dr Arentoft will discuss changing researchers’ incentives, rewards and skills, and will explore the concerns of researchers.
