Background

I have a PhD (2012, cum laude) from Tilburg University, The Netherlands. I have held academic positions at the University of Pretoria, South Africa (2013–2015), and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand (2015–2018).

 

Research

My research focuses on personality, language, values, and culture, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods. My main ongoing projects deal with the structure and interrelations of personality traits and values across cultures, time periods, and periods of development.

Teaching

I have given lectures and taught courses in personality and cross-cultural psychology at various institutions. At UL, I am teaching introductory courses in personality (PS4021 Psychology: Theory & Method 1), social (PS4032 Psychology & Social Issues), and developmental psychology (PS4042 Psychology: Theory & Method 2), as well as an advanced course in research methods (PS6032: Advanced Analysis in Psychology 2).
